v0.1.1 || Robustness and observability
Ocelot deck builder » Devlog
Summary
This update is mainly about observability for the developer. The "gameplay" is unchanged. The purpose of the update is to make future versions more robust and observable
New content & features
- Added a sound system. At the moment most GUI elements have click and enter sounds. Some cards also play short music clips.
- Added a logging system. There are four levels: DEBUG, INFO, WARNING and ERROR. They are dumped to log files in the users local "My games" folder. All enabled log events will also be visible in an in-game console in the top left. This is a feature that will make it easier to find issues with the product during runtime.
- Added settings file. In the local "My games" folder a userSettings.json file will be created if none exist. It contains various settings information. There is also a GUI in-game to modify the entries and save to file.
- Added support for changelogs. There is a GUI, accessible through the main menu, where users can view all previous changelogs. Your reading a changelog right now!
- Added option for fullscreen/windowed screen modes.
Future
Exactly what will be in the scope of the next version is unclear, but it will focus on more engaging card mechanics. Below is the current backlog (not prioritized since beginning of July). The desired outcome of the next update would be a prototype where the user has more choices in how to interact with cards.
